Jean Marie Chérestal, the national authorizing officer for the Lomé Convention in Haiti, discusses the Lomé Convention, an aid and trade agreement between the European Union and African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) countries. Chérestal defines the European Development Fund and the Stabex, and describes various projects undertaken in Haiti under the convention's framework, including the road between Port-au-Prince and Hinche and roads throughout the Grand'Anse, as well as a variety of joint Haitian-Dominican projects along the border and the possibility of the two countries collaborating in the tourism sector. At the end of the interview, Chérestal addresses questions of neoliberalism and antineoliberalism. Interview by Jean Dominique.
Jean Marie Chérestal, ordonnateur national de l’Accord de Lomé en Haïti, parle de cette convention qui concerne les programmes d’aide et le commerce entre l’Union Européenne et les pays ACP (Afrique, Caraïbes, Pacifique). Chérestal définit le Fond Européen pour le Développement (FED) et le Stabex, et il décrit plusieurs projets pour Haïti dans le cadre de cet accord : la construction de la route Port-au-Prince-Hinche, des routes dans plusieurs régions de la Grande Anse, des projets conjoints à la frontière Haïti-République Dominicaine avec une possibilité de collaboration entre les deux pays dans le secteur touristique. À la fin de la rencontre, Chérestal aborde la question du néolibéralisme et de l’anti-néolibéralisme. Interview Jean Dominique.
