  • Charles Suffrard, leader of KOZEPEP, describes a recent attempt on his life. According to Suffrard, members of the Lavalas party planned his execution. What appear to be "land conflicts" in the Artibonite are actually political conflicts organized by Lavalas, which is distributing money and weapons and encouraging violence -- including the contract on Suffrard's life. Lavalas is controlled by a small clan of people, who are attempting to paralyze the country and the peasantry. KOZEPEP is being targeted because they have been calling for justice for Jean Dominique. Though KOZEPEP helped elect many of these members of Lavalas, it is now KOZEPEP's responsibility to denounce these elected officials if they are not fulfilling their duty. Meanwhile, KOZEPEP's priorities (such as domestic agricultural production, fertilizer, and so on) are not advancing.

  • Charles Suffrard, responsable de KOZEPEP, décrit une tentative d’assassinat dont il a été victime. D’après Suffrard, ce sont des membres de Lavalas qui en sont à l’origine. Entre temps, rien ne permet de faire avancer les priorités de KOZEPEP, comme la production nationale, la question des engrais, etc.
