Emisyon espesyal sou lavi ak dwa bwasewo ayisyen k ap viv nan batèy epi k ap koupe kann nan Dominikani. Gen anpil ayisyen yo pran -- yo fè dappiyanp sou yo -- pou y al koupe kann nan Dominikani san yo pa vle sa. Yo gen ladan yo ti granmoun ak timoun. Y ap pase mizè nan batèy yo, epi yo anvi tounen lakay yo men yo pa kapab. Anbochay fòse sa a se rezilta lefèt ke KNG a poko siyen yon nouvo kontra avèk Consejo Estatal de Azúcar (CEA) dominiken an (pandan ansyen rejim nan, Duvalier te pwomèt gouvènman dominiken an plizyè milye travayè ayisyen, epi dominiken yo te peye l pou sa). Òganizasyon dwa moun ap mobilize pou yo defann bwasewo ayisyen yo -- yo kwè kondisyon lavi bwasewo yo dwe amelyore, fòk anbochay fòse ak esklavaj modèn sa a kaba, epi si yon nouvo kontra siyen avèk CEA a, fòk li mache avèk sa ouvriye yo vle ak bezwen. Emisyon an gen ladan li vwa plizyè bwasewo (pami yo ti granmoun ak timoun), reprezantan òganizasyon dwa moun, Carmen Ogando ki se yon travayè sosyal nan CEA, epi politisyen dominiken José Francisco Peña Gómez.
Special broadcast on the lives and rights of Haitian braceros living in bateys and cutting sugar cane in the Dominican Republic. Many Haitians have been essentially kidnapped and trafficked to the Dominican Republic against their will to cut sugar cane, including very old people and children. They live in terrible conditions in the bateys, and wish to return to Haiti and are unable to. This trafficking is the result of the CNG's not having signed a new contract with the Dominican Consejo Estatal de Azúcar (CEA) (under the previous regime, Duvalier had promised thousands of Haitian laborers to the Dominican Republic in exchange for payment). Human rights organizations are mobilizing to defend Haitian cane-cutters, and they believe that conditions must be improved, that forced trafficking and modern-day slavery must be stopped, and that if a new contract is signed with the CEA, it should be in accordance with the needs and wants of the workers. Includes the voices of several Haitian braceros (including elderly people and children), representatives of human rights groups, Carmen Ogando who is a social worker with the CEA, and Dominican politician José Francisco Peña Gómez.
