Jean Rabel: Kout Lambi Tèt Ansanm, 21 jiyè 1987

Yon kout lambi gwoupman Tèt Ansanm nan Jan Rabel. Lap envoke memwa Desalin ak Chalmay Perat, epi li mande lòt gwoupman peyizan ak tout mas pèp la toupatou an Ayiti pou yo gen rezistans, pou yo opoze makout yo ak grandon yo kap oprime ak eksplwate peyizan yo, kap sèvi ak gwo kòb pou divize pèp la. Prezantatè kout lambi a di fòk yo pa reziyen yo, fòk yo pa asepte kondisyon y ap viv yo – reziyasyon pa yon valè kretyèn. Okontrè, se Bondye menm ki ba yo kapasite pou yo gen rezistans.

A formal declaration and call to action and solidarity (kout lambi, literally a sounding of the conch shell) by a woman who represents the peasant organization Tèt Ansanm in Jean Rabel. Invoking the memory of Dessalines and Charlemagne Péralte, they call on other peasant organizations and the Haitian masses throughout the country to resist and oppose the macoutes and wealthy landowners who oppress and exploit them and who use their money and influence to divide and conquer. The speaker states that they should not be resigned and accepting; resignation is not a Christian value. On the contrary, God has given them the ability to resist.

Appel à l’action (« kout lambi » signifie faire sonner une conque) de la part de l’association paysanne Tèt Ansanm, à Jean Rabel. Évoquant la mémoire de Dessalines et de Charlemagne Péralte, ils font appel aux autres associations et à la population haïtienne et les encouragent à résister aux macoutes et aux propriétaires fonciers qui oppriment et exploitent les paysans. L’intervenant dit qu’il ne faut pas se résigner, car la résignation n’est pas une valeur chrétienne. Au contraire, Dieu leur a donné la force de résister.
