| - | It just bothers me that, | 0:00 |
| you know, people do take positions. | 0:04 | |
| And once they do, maybe it's true of both sides, | 0:07 | |
| they just don't wanna be bothered by facts anymore. | 0:09 | |
| And so, | 0:12 | |
| the people who are, | 0:14 | |
| for whatever reason, you know, the politicians are | 0:16 | |
| politically motivated to keep these things in commissions | 0:19 | |
| and act like that's just the only way | 0:21 | |
| we're gonna be able to keep America safe. | 0:24 | |
| And it's just not true, you know, you see the, you know, | 0:26 | |
| some people are out saying, you know, where are we | 0:29 | |
| in the war and terror? | 0:32 | |
| We're not losing, we're not gonna lose anything. | 0:33 | |
| Were, you know, I guess, I'm bothered | 0:35 | |
| by the lack of confidence that people have | 0:37 | |
| in our ability to fight this battle, to prevail, | 0:39 | |
| the lack of confidence in the established court system | 0:47 | |
| and our prison system. | 0:51 | |
| I mean, it just bothers me | 0:53 | |
| that people don't have any more confidence than that | 0:55 | |
| and then they can be so easily scared. | 0:57 | |
| And that, and then, maybe this sounds probably insensitive | 1:01 | |
| but that we are so afraid for our own physical safety | 1:06 | |
| that we're willing to just throw out values, | 1:12 | |
| throw out system as long as we're safe, and not get hurt. | 1:14 | |
| We're okay. | 1:17 | |
| Well, no, that's changing everything. | 1:19 | |
| The American people act like sometimes that we're the | 1:22 | |
| only civilization that's ever been subject to terrorism. | 1:24 | |
| Terrorism started on 9/11. | 1:28 | |
| You know, they, they kind of forget | 1:30 | |
| about the Marine barracks or the coal, or they forget | 1:33 | |
| about the terrorism between, with the IRA and the terrorism | 1:34 | |
| that the, with the Israelis and the Palestinians. | 1:40 | |
| I mean, there's been terrorism since you can think | 1:43 | |
| that the word may have been invented | 1:45 | |
| and somehow it's all about us. | 1:47 | |
| And it's all about our fear | 1:49 | |
| and how we have to lose all these values and | 1:50 | |
| and cherished institutions and not respect them. | 1:55 | |
| That that bothers me. | 1:58 | |
| And I hope at some point that we can get past that. | 1:59 |
