| - | During that era in Camp Five, when they were putting | 0:00 |
| the air conditioning really, really cold. | 0:02 | |
| Plus, not only doing that, | 0:05 | |
| but they were taking the blankets we have. | 0:06 | |
| So all day, you would be without your blanket, | 0:09 | |
| without anything and you're shivering, | 0:12 | |
| you're literally shivering for, let's say, | 0:14 | |
| about 18 out of the 24 hours. | 0:17 | |
| And the six hours they give you from night to morning, | 0:20 | |
| they only give you the blanket for six hours. | 0:25 | |
| And again, they play games with that. | 0:28 | |
| So, the guy in front of me, | 0:30 | |
| they were giving him his blanket, | 0:36 | |
| and they said his name, so they take it out, | 0:37 | |
| the blanket has your name on it or something like that, | 0:41 | |
| so you can identify it | 0:43 | |
| and they'll give you the right blanket. | 0:44 | |
| Because some people they don't like to | 0:45 | |
| use other people's blankets, which is understandable. | 0:47 | |
| I was flexible on this, | 0:49 | |
| as long as it's a warmish blanket. | 0:50 | |
| So this guy, he was given his blanket and he told him, | 0:54 | |
| "Oh, this is not mine, mine is just that one." | 0:56 | |
| He said, "Oh, so you're refusing the blanket?" | 0:59 | |
| He said, "No, no, I'm not refusing, | 1:00 | |
| that's my blanket over there, just give me my blanket." | 1:01 | |
| He said "No, you're refusing, that's it." | 1:03 | |
| So he didn't give him the blanket. | 1:06 | |
| And I thought like, you know, in a short while | 1:07 | |
| he'd come and give him his blanket back, and he didn't. | 1:08 | |
| And I called the person in charge, | 1:11 | |
| I said, "Look, you need to give this guy his blanket." | 1:14 | |
| And the problem with that, this guy he was very ill. | 1:17 | |
| And he had kidney problems. | 1:20 | |
| He had a variety of health problems | 1:21 | |
| and he had problems with his bones. | 1:23 | |
| And I tried very, very hard to get the blanket to this guy. | 1:26 | |
| And they would simply not give it to him. | 1:31 | |
| And then, you start hearing him crying, | 1:34 | |
| and screaming, and you know, like, shivering. | 1:37 | |
| And you can see from the little window, | 1:41 | |
| you can see him just like, you know, suffering in his cell. | 1:43 | |
| That was very, very difficult for me. | 1:47 | |
| And it's very difficult. | 1:49 | |
| And it was unnecessary, uncalled for. | 1:51 | |
| For me, if somebody causes a problem | 1:55 | |
| and he gets punished, I haven't got a problem with that. | 1:57 | |
| That's it, you know, it's a fair game. | 1:59 | |
| But when sometimes somebody doesn't do anything | 2:01 | |
| and he just wants his entitlement, | 2:05 | |
| I don't want more than my entitlement. | 2:07 | |
| I'm supposed to get my blanket, please give me my blanket. | 2:08 | |
| And then they start playing games. | 2:10 | |
| And they don't do that, | 2:12 | |
| that's very, very painful. | 2:13 | |
| And there are many, many incidents like this, but this one. | 2:15 | |
| I think I carry with me till today. | 2:19 |
