| - | It just bothers me that | 0:00 |
| people do take positions | 0:04 | |
| and once they do, maybe it's true of both sides. | 0:07 | |
| They just don't want to be bothered by facts anymore. | 0:09 | |
| And so the people who are | 0:12 | |
| for whatever reason, | 0:16 | |
| the politicians are politically motivated to | 0:18 | |
| keep these things in commissions and act | 0:20 | |
| like that's just the only way we're going to | 0:22 | |
| be able to keep America safe. | 0:24 | |
| And it's just not true. | 0:26 | |
| Some people are out saying, you know, where are we | 0:28 | |
| in the war on terror? | 0:32 | |
| We are going to lose. | 0:33 | |
| We are not losing, | 0:34 | |
| we're not going to lose anything. | 0:35 | |
| Or, you know, I, I guess I'm bothered | 0:36 | |
| by the lack of confidence that people have in | 0:37 | |
| in our ability to, you know, to, to fight this battle | 0:41 | |
| to prevail the lack of confidence | 0:45 | |
| in the established court system and, and our prison system. | 0:48 | |
| I mean, it just bothers me that | 0:53 | |
| that people don't have any more confidence than that. | 0:55 | |
| And then they can be so easily scared and that | 0:57 | |
| and it made a sound probably | 1:02 | |
| insensitive | 1:06 | |
| but that we are so afraid | 1:06 | |
| for our own physical safety that we're willing to just throw | 1:09 | |
| out values, throw out system | 1:13 | |
| as long as we're safe, we're not get hurt. | 1:15 | |
| We're okay. | 1:18 | |
| Well, no, that's changing. | 1:19 | |
| That's changing everything. | 1:20 | |
| The American people act like sometimes we're the | 1:22 | |
| only civilian civilization's ever been subject to terrorism. | 1:24 | |
| Terrorism started on nine eleven. | 1:28 | |
| You know, they, they kind of forget | 1:30 | |
| about the Marine barracks or the coal, or they forget | 1:32 | |
| about the terrorism between what the IRA | 1:34 | |
| and the terrorism | 1:39 | |
| that the, with the Israelis and the Palestinians. | 1:40 | |
| I mean, there's been terrorism since you can think | 1:43 | |
| that the word may have been invented | 1:45 | |
| and somehow it's all about us. | 1:47 | |
| And it's all about our fear | 1:49 | |
| and how we have to lose all these values and | 1:50 | |
| and cherished institutions and not respect them. | 1:54 | |
| That that bothers me. | 1:58 | |
| And I hope at some point that we can get past that. | 1:59 |
