| - | I started hearing stories about a guy. | 0:01 |
| Well, first of all, I started seeing a lot of guards | 0:07 | |
| in the hospital and in a special room we had. | 0:09 | |
| And, you know, like I said I try to, kinda, | 0:14 | |
| cause, you know, if I step, I know somebody is gonna | 0:20 | |
| say something to me so, I just try and go in and out, | 0:23 | |
| you know, not look too far to the side. | 0:26 | |
| But I started hearing stories of some guy | 0:31 | |
| they called Timmy and that's from South Park, | 0:33 | |
| the little disabled kid in a wheelchair. | 0:37 | |
| And they said that he had tried to hang himself | 0:43 | |
| and that he had gone too long and had brain damage. | 0:47 | |
| And that's the rumor outside, | 0:53 | |
| you know, during the barbecue time. | 0:55 | |
| So, yeah, I walked by that room one day | 0:58 | |
| and I saw a guy who sort of fit that description. | 1:02 | |
| And I had asked later, "the guy they had in that room, | 1:06 | |
| is that the one they called...", "yeah that's the one" | 1:09 | |
| and he was, he wasn't shackled by handcuffs, | 1:13 | |
| and he was, he wasn't shackled by handcuffs, | 1:16 | |
| but they had a, more like a bandage kind of restraints. | 1:22 | |
| And he was sitting up in bed like this | 1:27 | |
| and yeah, he didn't, he did not look good. | 1:30 | |
| He looked like he, he looked like he was mentally disabled. | 1:33 | |
| With beards and stuff it's kind of hard to tell, | 1:38 | |
| but they did shave him and I don't know, | 1:44 | |
| he looked 19, 20, 21. | 1:47 | |
| It's hard to put ages on some people. | 1:53 | |
| Interviewer | Did you wonder why someone | 1:56 |
| would try to commit suicide while at the base? | 1:57 | |
| - | Yeah. I knew exactly why. | 2:00 |
| Interviewer | Why? | 2:02 |
| - | Because if, I thought about this, probably because of him. | 2:04 |
| If you thought, you, you've been here, what, five years? | 2:09 | |
| And if you had no, and they told you, you were always | 2:15 | |
| gonna be here and you would never go home, | 2:19 | |
| or if you ever got the idea that you would never go home | 2:22 | |
| and this was gonna be the rest of your life, | 2:26 | |
| why wouldn't you kill yourself? | 2:28 | |
| I'd kill myself. | 2:31 |
