Yo asasinen Antoine Izméry ak Guy Malary, pa gen pwogrè depi akò Governors Island kèk mwa anvan: tout sa fè Jean Dominique dezespere epi fache akòz sityasyon politik an Ayiti. Li di Ayiti pa gen okenn pwojè politik ni klas politik; daprè Dominique, pou oligak yo, boujwazi a, ak klas mwayen nan, se piyaje y ap piyaje sèlman.
After the assassinations of Antoine Izméry and Guy Malary and the lack of progress since the Governors Island accords that summer, Jean Dominique was demoralized and angry about the political situation in Haiti, and pessimistic about the possibility of Radio Haiti returning to the air. He speaks of the United States's complicity in backing the coup d'état and supporting Cédras and the rest of the military junta, and describes Haiti as lacking a political project and a political class; according to Dominique, the oligarchs, bourgeoisie and middle class exist only to plunder.
