Program commemorating the 29 November 1987 election day violence perpetrated by the "macoute army." Includes various events leading up to the aborted elections, including Alphonse Lahens's November 1 declaration in Les Cayes, the arson against Emmanuel Ambroise's business and the Imprimerie Le Natal, the destruction of various electorial bureaus (BEC) throughout the country. Though Macoutes including Lahens and Claude Raymond continued to make threats, the CEP did not back down. Radio Lumière's transmitter in Les Cayes was destroyed, and the Marché Salomon was burned down, after which community "brigad vijilans" began to form until General Williams Régala outlawed them. The bishop of Jérémie called for the elections to be cancelled, and a group of Canadian journalists were attacked in Marchand Dessalines. By November 28, the army was attacking CEP trucks transporting election materials into the countryside, and Radio Haiti came under fire. Nonetheless voters lined up to vote. It was only after the massacre of voters at Ruelle Vaillant that Jean-Robert Sabalat of the BED de l'Ouest cancelled the elections, and later that day the CEP announced the cancellation of elections nationwide.
