  • Hundreds of Haitian braceros, returning from the annual sugar cane harvest in the Dominican Republic, were stopped by the interim police at Malpasse who accused them of being illegal immigrants. They were made to pay in order to reenter Haiti.

  • Des centaines de braceros haïtiens, revenant de la zafra (la coupe annuelle de la canne) en République Dominicaine ont été arrêtés par la police intérimaire à Malpasse. Ils sont accusés d’être des sans-papiers et obligés de payer pour rentrer en Haïti.
