Anselme Remy, Patrick Elie, and Ben Dupuy discuss the history, origins, and mentality of macoutism, which began long before Duvalier came to power and created the Tontons Macoutes/VSN. It began with Jean-Pierre Boyer's land policies after the Haitian Revolution, which led to the creation of a feudal system in which landowners and the bourgeoisie which competed to exploit the masses. Similar structures of oppression and corruption existed under several Haitian leaders, and continue to the present day, with macoutes pretending to be democratic. The US supported Duvalier and the Tontons Macoutes, and continues to support macoutism in Haiti while claiming to support participatory democracy. Patrick Elie, of Fondasyon Eko Vwa Jean Dominique, says that Dominique was assassinated because he was challenging this feudal system, promoting agrarian reform and the rights of peasant farmers. Contains Justice for Jean Dominique spots.
L'émission comprend quelques spots de « Justice for Jean Dominique ».
