Patrick Elie avèk Carl Henri Guiteau, ki se de manm Fondasyon Eko Vwa Jean Dominique fè yon ranmase sou sityasyon politik nan lane 2001. Dapre Elie, fòk nou tounen nan lane 2000 -- asasina Jean Dominique nan mwa avril, epi eleksyon 21 me epi kriz ki te deklanche akòz eleksyon yo -- pou konprann ki jan sityasyon politik Ayiti a ap dewoule nan lane 2001.
Patrick Elie and Carl-Henri Guiteau of Fondation Eko Vwa Jean Dominique reflect on the political events of 2001. According to Elie, one has to return to 2000 -- to the assassination of Jean Dominique in April and the elections of 21 May and the ensuring crisis -- to understand how Haiti's political situation unfolded in 2001. The current political crisis is only the "surface-level crisis" (kriz aparan); the source of the crisis (manman kriz la) is much deeper, and goes back to the longstanding "divorce" between the political class and the population, the "American plan" for Haiti (which includes the destruction of the Creole pig, privatization, and the 1991 coup d'état, etc.), impunity, and other factors that have made it impossible to "change the State."
