Powèt, womansye, dramatij, ak militan Gérard Chenet tounen an Ayiti soti nan peyi Senegal nan lane 1986 aprè Duvalier fin tonbe. Li eksplike koman li wè peyi a: pa gen anpil pwogrè ekonomik paske kanta richès Ayiti a, se vole yo vole l.
Poet, novelist, playwright, and activist Gérard Chenet, returning to Haiti from Senegal in 1986 after the fall of Duvalier, describes how he sees the country: there has been little economic progress because so much of Haiti's wealth has been stolen, but the people are much more politically aware, which is part due to the use of Creole language. He also discusses his experience of the Revolution of 1946, and his literary and theatrical work. He breaks into poetry on drought, both literal and metaphorical, and discusses his views on God and spirituality.
