Komisyon ankèt militè aprè masak la te gen ladan li kèk sòlda, majistra a, yon jij lapè, ak chèf seksyon Esperance Charles li menm. Yo deklare MJL se yon òganizasyon kominis li ye, epi yo bay lòd pou sant fòmasyon MJL la kraze, 1988-08-16 (00:06:47) Yon manm MJL dekri masak la. Temwen an di lame a te tire sou foul la pandan yo t ap manje aprè reyinyon an. "Yo tonbe, asyèt nan men yo." 1988-08-16 (00:11:03) Konferans pou laprès kote yon moun ki pa idantifye ankouraje dyalòg avèk lame ak Jeneral Namphy, ak pou refòme konstitisyon an. Liliane Pierre-Paul poze kesyon. (Tep sa a make "Majistra Labadi" men nou pa konnen si se li menm tout bon) (00:18:10) Manm MJL la di yo pa ka ransanble ankò poutèt menas vyolans aprè masak Labadi a. Anpil nan manm MJL yo toujou nan kachèt. Majistra Paul-André Chrysostome demanti ke yo te bay lòd pou kraze sant fòmasyon MJL la. Manm MJL yo kontinye ap lonje dwèt sou Esperance Charles ak Baguidy Grand-Pierre. An franse, 1988-08-26 (00:22:29) Manm MJL la di yo pa ka ransanble ankò poutèt menas vyolans aprè masak Labadi a. (00:00:00) On August 14, 1988, four members of the Mouvman Jèn Labadi (a grassroots peasants' rights group) from Labadie, Petite-Rivière-de-l'Artibonite, were killed by an armed group led by chef de section Esperance Charles and prefect Baguidy Grand-Pierre. The four young men killed were Berson Etienne, Louismond Armand, Dony Accéus, and Alex Alexandre. The military's investigative commission into the massacre included soldiers, the mayor, a justice of the peace, and chef de section Esperance Charles himself. They declared that the MJL was a communist organization and ordered the destruction of the organization's training facility, 1988-08-16 (00:06:47) A member of the MJL describes the massacre. The witness describes the army opening fire on members of the organization as they ate after their meeting. "They fell with plates in their hands." 1988-08-15 (00:11:03) Press conference in which unnamed speaker describes the need for dialogue with the army and General Namphy, and for reforming the Constitution. Liliane Pierre-Paul asks questions. (Tape is labeled "Magistrat Labadie" but it is unclear if this is he.)(00:18:10) Members of the MJL say that they cannot meet as the result of ongoing threats of violence after the Labadie massacre. Many MJL members are still in hiding. Mayor Paul André Chrysostome denies that the MJL's facility was destroyed. MJL members continue to blame Esperance Charles and Baguidy Grand-Pierre for the massacre.
