(00:06:11) Radio Haiti's summary of Manigat's speech. Among other subjects, Manigat declared he would not leave power before his five-year term was over, said that attempts to overturn a government are anti-nationalist, discussed the question of Haitian braceros in the Dominican Republic, said his government would stabilize prices of basic goods, criticized the press for irresponsibility, and announced that the investigation into the electoral violence of 29 November 1987 is not complete because the witnesses refused to sign their depositions.
