  • Several heads of the Banque Nationale de Développement Agricole et Industriel (BNDAI, formerly the IDAI or Institut de Développement Agricole et Industriel) defend themselves in face of complaints by farmers from the Gonaïves plain who are dissatisfied with the agricultural credit program. According to farmers, BNDAI has failed to provide them with the credit they need to grow beans. Konpè Filo interviews Yves Lerebours, the director general of the BNDAI; agronomist Marcel Thébaud, the director of agricultural credit programs; agronomist Mr. Mars, who supervises operations at the regional BNDAI offices; and agronomist Raoul Mompoint, who is the director of the regional office for the Artibonite and Nord-Ouest departments.
