Yves Richard of the labor union CATH describes his arrest on November 28, 1980, imprisonment, and torture by Albert "Ti Boule" Pierre and Emmanuel Orcel. He was exiled along with Konpè Filo, Liliane Pierre-Paul, Jackson Pierre-Paul, and others. They first went to Curaçao and Caracas, where they came into conflict with Leslie Manigat of the RDNP. Jean Auguste Mézieux, also of CATH, describes the Duvalier government's efforts to force other union members into exile, but they insisted on continuing their work to defend workers.
Yves Richard du syndicat CATH raconte son arrestation, le 28 novembre 1980, ainsi que son emprisonnement et la torture qu'Albert « Ti Boule » Pierre et Emmanuel Orcel lui firent subir. Il fut envoyé en exil avec entre autres Konpè Filo, Liliane Pierre-Paul et Jackson Pierre-Paul. Initialement conduits à Curaçao, puis à Caracas, ils se retrouvèrent en conflit avec Leslie Manigat du RDNP. Jean Auguste Mézieux, lui aussi de CATH, décrit les efforts du gouvernement pour forcer les autres membres du syndicat à partir en exil. Malgré cela, ils ont décidé de continuer leur travail pour défendre les ouvriers.
