Emisyon “Radyo Ayiti nan Nouyòk,” avèk Jean Dominique ak Konpè Filo, nan stidyo WNYE, chak vandredi swa soti 8è rive 10 zè. Dominique ak Filo li plizyè anons kominotè pou dyaspora nan zòn Nouyòk la. Dominique li kèk lèt oditè Radyo Ayiti nan Nouyòk voye ba yo. Gen yon ki mande yo bay plis nouvèl sou sityasyon ayisyen k ap eseye degaje nan Nouyòk (moun k ap travay nan faktori, moun k ap fè “babysitting restavèk”). Demen ap fè 20 an depi Martin Luther King Jr. te pale pawòl “I Have a Dream” (“Mwen gen yon rèv”) la, kidonk yo envite Yves Dejean, ki se yon edikatè, vin pale sou travay li konn fè nan domèn alfabetizasyon, ki se yon zak revolisyonè li ye tou. Dejean dekri travay li konn fè pou aprann ayisyen k ap viv nan batèy yo li ak ekri, epi li eksplike poukisa nou dwe gen respè pou granmoun k ap aprann li ak ekri, pou rekonèt se granmoun yo ye ki gen entelijans ak kapasite pa yo, olye nou kenbe men yo kòmsi se timoun piti yo ye. Jean Dominique anonse ke yè nan Pòtoprens, Minis Enfòmasyon Jean-Marie Chanoine anonse pral gen chanjman nan konstitisyon François Duvalier a. Nan New Jersey, gen apeprè 100 ayisyen ki te nan prizon anba rejim Duvalier a. Nan dezyèm pati emisyon an, Filo ansanm avèk Pè Antoine Adrien pral pale avèk kèk ladan yo sou maspinay yo te sibi nan men diktati Duvalier a. Gen plizyè pòz mizikal.
“Radio Haiti in New York” broadcast, hosted by Jean Dominique and Konpè Filo, out of the WNYE studios, each Friday night from 8 pm to 10 pm. Jean Dominique continues to report on political instability in Haiti, according to sources who are in the country. The situation is unclear in Jérémie, after President Jean-Claude Duvalier and two of his government ministers, Roger Lafontant and Théodore Achille, visited. Duvalier met with Archbishop Willy Romélus, who is an opponent of the regime. Romélus listed all the ways the population is suffering, including the elimination of the Creole pig and abuses by Duvalier’s Macoutes. In Port-au-Prince, there was a conference between the CIA, the private sector, and industrialists at the US embassy, who are trying to turn Haiti into “Taiwan or Puerto Rico.” Radio Nederlands reports that US marines remain active in the area around Môle-Saint-Nicolas, and the US also has its eyes on Tiburon, in the south of Haiti. Meanwhile, Haiti’s tourism industry is failing. There was a fire in downtown Port-au-Prince, and the firefighters did not have enough water to put it out. Le Petit Samedi Soir published a special issue on the question of presidential succession, which was clearly financed by Duvalier’s father-in-law, Ernest Bennett, as the first person the PSS listed as the likely successor was Duvalier’s wife, Michèle Bennett. This provoked outrage on the part of three of Duvalier’s top ministers — Roger Lafontant, Théodore Achille, and Jean-Marie Chanoine, known as LAC. The editor-in-chief of the PSS, Dieudonné Fardin, was summoned before Chanoine and Lafontant and interrogated harshly, though he was not beaten.
