(00:00:36) Jean Dominique discusses former Minister of Justice André Rousseau’s statement that the Cour de Cassation’s ruling against Radio Haiti was unconstitutional and illegal. Dominique also discusses an open letter from a group of pastors and priests concerning the Haitian migrants stranded on Cayo Lobos in the Bahamas. These acts show that there are principled people who will stand up to injustice. Dominique also discusses US foreign policy and history of imperialism, in the midst of its current economic crisis, following President Jimmy Carter’s speech before the OAS. First part of Jean Dominique’s 1980 interview with Konpè Plim (Evans Paul). Konpè Plim describes his second arrest, for reasons unknown. They discuss the possibility that he (and, earlier, Konpè Filo) were arrested because they report in Haitian Creole -- how powerful and dangerous the truth can be, when told in Creole. They discuss Paul's life history, the journalistic profession, the role and experience of the Haitian journalist, especially those who report in Creole.
