Pandan yon entèvyou avèk Daniel Huttinot nan pwogram Lè Ayisyèn, Jean Dominique reponn ak deklarasyon avoka divalyeris Constantin Mayard-Paul, ki soti lanse yon apèl pou libète laprès an Ayiti. Mayard-Paul se avoka ki pote plent kont Radyo Ayiti, epi ki te mare sosis li avèk Jean Valmé ak Lionel "Ti Je" Willy pou konplote kont radyo a. Dapre Dominique, Mayard-Paul se yon espyon, epi li frekan anpil si l ap lanse yon apèl pou libète laprès an Ayiti. Huttinot mande Dominique poukisa li rete bouch be sèjousi.
In an interview with Daniel Huttinot on L’Heure Haïtienne, Jean Dominique responds to news that the Duvalierist lawyer Constantin Mayard-Paul has called for freedom of the press in Haiti. Mayard-Paul was the lawyer who brought a lawsuit against Radio Haiti, and who conspired with Jean Valmé and Lionel “Ti Je” Willy against the station. According to Dominique, Mayard-Paul is a spy, and it is impudent of him to call for freedom of the press in Haiti. Huttinot asks why Dominique remains silent. Dominique responds that “I am making myself small” because he is in exile in New York; he doesn’t know the reality of Haiti now, and some of his comrades are still suffering, particularly Jacques Price, who remains in prison in Haiti. Huttinot asks Dominique about the future of the Haitian press; Dominique responds that he doesn’t know, because “journalists aren’t psychics.”
