Rencontre entre le président Aristide, le premier ministre René Préval, le ministre des Travaux publics, Frantz Verella, d’autres ministres du gouvernement, et des représentants d’organisations populaires. Les participants présentent leurs opinions sur la politique économique, surtout les prêts du FMI et le programme d’ajustement structurel pour Haïti. Les membres des organisations constatent que le régime Duvalier a pillé les caisses de l’État, et que c’est un des pays du FMI, la France, qui a accueilli Jean-Claude Duvalier à son départ d’Haïti.
Meeting between President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, Prime Minister René Préval, Minister of Public Works Frantz Verella, other government ministers, and grassroots groups. Participants present their opinions on economic policy, particularly IMF loans and structural adjustment programs for Haiti. Members of grassroots groups point out that Haiti has been pillaged by the Duvalier regime, and that Jean-Claude Duvalier has taken refuge in France -- which is one of the most powerful countries in the IMF.
