Kwonoloji an detay tout evènman ki vini aprè eleksyon Jean-Bertrand Aristide 16 desanm 1990: divizyon andedan legliz katolik (pa egzanp sèmon kote Monseyè Ligondé di Aristide se yon Bòlchevik); koudeta Roger Lafontant epi, kèk mwa aprè, pwosè Roger Lafontant; dechoukaj, piyaj ansyen katedral Pòtoprens; masak Jève; dife yo mete nan Lafanmi Selavi; envestiti Aristide 7 fevriye 1991; rapò Aristide avèk lame; premye jou gouvènman Aristide la, kote li mande patisipasyon sa k pi pòv yo; diskou trè koni a, sa yo rele diskou "Pè Lebrun" a kote li di "pa neglije ba l sa l merite!" ak diskou Aristide devan Asanble Jeneral Nasyonzini. Yo pale sou demisyon Hérard Abraham kòm kòmandan lame; Raoul Cédras vin ranplase li. 30 septanm 1991, Cédras fè yon koudeta sou Aristide, epi Aristide pran egzil. Yo pale sou reyaksyon an Ayiti ak lòt bò dlo (anbago ameriken, misyon OEA), lanmò Sylvio Claude, arestasyon ak liberasyon Manno Charlemagne ak Antoine Izméry. Koudeta a fòse nouvo kriz "botpipèl," refijye ayisyen k ap pran lanmè. Yo pale tou sou evènman kiltirèl, ekonomi, dwa fanm, manifestasyon, komemorasyon, okipasyon anbasad kanadyen nan Pòtoprens, elatriye.
Detailed chronology of events following the December 16, 1990 election of Jean-Bertrand Aristide: divisions within the Catholic Church (including the sermon of Archbishop Ligondé in which he accuses Aristide of being a Bolshevik); the Roger Lafontant coup and, later in the year, his trial; dechoukaj; the pillaging of the Old Cathedral of Port-au-Prince; the Gervais massacre; the fire at Lafanmi Selavi; Aristide's February 7, 1991 inauguration; Aristide's relationship with the army; the early days of Aristide's government and his calls for participation of the poorest Haitians; Aristide's opposition to the IMF; the infamous so-called "Pè Lebrun" speech where he said "don't neglect to give them what they deserve!" ("pa neglije ba l sa l merite!") and Aristide's speech before the UN General Assembly. Includes the resignation of Hérard Abraham as the commander of the army, whereupon he was replaced with Raoul Cédras. On September 30, 1991, Aristide is overthrown in a coup d'état by Cédras and goes into exile. Includes reactions to the coup d'état, in Haiti and abroad (including the US embargo and OAS missions), the death of Sylvio Claude, the arrest and release of Manno Charlemagne and Antoine Izméry. A new wave of Haitian refugees takes to the sea, creating a new "boat people" crisis. Also includes cultural events, economy, women's rights, protests and demonstrations, commemorations, the occupation of the Canadian Embassy in Port-au-Prince, etc.
