Debat jenero nan pwosè Raboto a. Avoka viktim yo, Mario Joseph avèk Duclas Marcelin, dekri masak Raboto a kòm yon "zak prepare" alavans, kote objektif lame a te pou kraze mouvman popilè pou retabli lòd konstitisyonèl nan peyi d Ayiti.
General closing arguments in the Raboteau trial. The victim's lawyers, Mario Joseph and Duclas Marcelin, describe the Raboteau massacre as a "premeditated act," in which the army's goal was to suppress grassroots movements to restore constitutional order. Drawing on the proverb "bay kou bliye, pote mak sonje" ("the one who strikes the blow forgets, the one who bears the scars remembers"), they describe how the victims and witnesses of the Raboteau massacre have been unwavering in their testimonies since the massacre occurred. The defendants, on the other hand, have changed their tales and lied throughout. They focus in particular on the acts of Cénafils Castera and Wilson Casséus.
