Temwayaj akize Djo Lucie, vrè non Pierre Joseph. Li demanti li te patisipe nan masak Raboto a.
Examination of defendant Djo Lucie, a.k.a. Pierre Joseph. He denies that he participated in the Raboteau massacre, claiming instead that Captain Castera Cénafils had him beaten and arrested. He declares that he is well-known in Gonaïves, that everyone knows him. At the same time, he claims not to know Blaise Vaillant and several other residents of Raboteau who testified that they saw Djo Lucie participating in the massacre. The civil prosecutors ask how he reacted when he heard about the massacre, as he knew several of the victims well (including Jamèdodo, Dyekivle, and Déborah Charles), and why he did not go see what had happened in Raboteau. Djo Lucie also claims he has never touched a gun -- he only knows machetes and rocks -- and that he knows of no enmity between Amiot "Cubain" Métayer (who is a Lavalas partisan) and Jean Tatoune (who is part of the opposition). Examination of Léxima Thélusma begins.
