Temwayaj Colin Granderson, ansyen direktè egzekitif MICIVIH. Aprè temwayaj li, odyans nan tribinal la bat bravo.
Testimony of Colin Granderson, former executive director of MICIVIH. He describes the repression of the people of Raboteau by the army and FRAPH, the lack of evidence that the military post had been attacked by the people of Raboteau (there were no bullet holes, for example), and the findings of MICIVIH's investigation after the massacre. They found several people killed and many houses burned. He also describes the people of Raboteau's singular resistance to the army -- more than any other place in Haiti. The Raboteau massacre occurred in a larger political context: the army and FRAPH committed more human rights violations following the July 1993 Governors Island accord. He also describes the close relationship between the military and FRAPH. There were the obvious victims -- those beaten or killed -- but there are innumerable other victims: people displaced from their land, people forced to abandon their families, the "boat people" forced to flee. After his testimony, the courtroom audience applauds.
