Fignolé Jean-Louis, candidate for senator of the Centre department for the Coalition des Forces Démocratiques (CFD), presents his political platform, which includes decentralization and improved infrastructure for the Central Plateau. He is also a leader of the FNCD, which he denies has broken down, but which is rather "crumbling." Jean-Louis explains why he is not part of Lavalas. According to him, the Lavalas movement and Jean-Bertrand Aristide created conditions for the 1991 coup d'état by taking actions that were too radical. He also describes his own experiences of exile in Canada during the coup years.
