Jean Wilson Saintilus of MOP and independent candidate Luc Augustin are running for mayor of Cap-Haïtien. They describe their respective platforms and their positions regarding several issues, including tourism (particularly revenue from Labadie); the role of the private sector in the area's development; and the lack of infrastructure in rural areas that drives people to seek a better life in the city, which in turn contributes to the development of slums. Augustin is part of an organisation populaire, while Saintilus represents a traditional political party, and their approaches are very different.
