They discuss the fallout of the coup years. The leaders of the coup d'état intentionally demotivated the Haitian people, and victims of the coup d'état have yet to find justice or reparations (which must go together; there cannot be justice without reparations, or reparations without justice). Suffrard describes the disappointment of pro-democracy activists in after the return of Aristide and constitutional order. If political leaders are so hungry for power that they will get in bed with coup leaders, what were the Haitian people fighting for?
