Includes an interview with Aboudja on the exhibit and its representation of Vodou and of Haiti, on changing perceptions of Vodou in Haiti and beyond, and how art and music have contributed to that change. Why, asks Montas, are expositions like this not done in Haiti? Aboudja turns the question around, saying that every ounfò, every Vodou temple in Haiti is a living museum. Vodou is not a religion, it is a way of life. Montas also comments on the edited volume that emerged from the exhibit, Sacred Arts of Haitian Vodou, edited by Donald Cosentino.
