Michèle Montas interviews Aboudja about the "Sacred Arts of Haitian Vodou" exhibit in New York, which featured ritual objects and works of art by several renowned Haitian artists and painters. According to Aboudja, this exhibit helped debunk certain stereotypes and assumptions about Vodou (such as zonbi). It is a living exhibit, designed for people to touch and interact with the objects, because as Aboudja explains, Vodou as a way of life rather than a religion. Aboudja describes the diversity of Vodou throughout Haiti. They also discuss the edited volume that emerged from the exhibit, SACRED ARTS OF HAITIAN VODOU, edited by Donald Cosentino.
