J.J. Dominique, Monique Lafontant, and Yanick Lahens discuss Jacques Godart's novel POURQUOI LES CAMPÊCHES SAIGNENT-ILS? which won the Prix Deschamps in 1987. They discuss in particular his depictions of peasant life and Vodou, and the question of for which audience the Haitian writer writes. They interview Godart about his work and this novel, which he wrote entirely in France. Lahens then discusses the life and career of James Baldwin, recently deceased. She focuses on his novel, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK.
J.J. Elle s'intéresse principalement à son roman « If Beale Street Could Talk ».
