Yanick Etienne dekri lit Batay Ouvriye ap mennen pou òganize travayè epi revandike dwa travayè nan peyi d Ayiti. Leta pa t envite Batay Ouvriye patisipe nan chita pale sou salè minimòm, men Etienne pa gen pwoblèm ak sa, paske dapre li, politisyen ap sèvi avèk pwomès salè minimòm kòm yon zouti politik, epi Batay Ouvriye ap chèche yon vrè chanjman, pa yon ajisteman malatchong. Li pale tou sou lit pou jistis pou viktim masak Gwasimal yo, sou tò travayè andeyò yo (moun k ap travay demwatye, vann jounen yo) konn sibi epi koman sityasyon travayè andeyò diferan pa rapò ak travayè izin lavil yo (pa egzanp, anpil travayè andeyò pa konnen si kòd travay la aplikab pou yo menm, tou). Etienne dekri tou opozisyon Gwoup 184 ak André Apaid monte kont Batay Ouvriye.
Yanick Etienne describes Batay Ouvriye's work organizing and advocating for the rights of laborers. The government did not invite Batay Ouvriye to participate in negotiations around raising the minimum wage, which is fine with Etienne because according to her, politicians are simply using the promise of minimum wage as a political tool, and Batay Ouvriye is seeking real change. She also discusses the continuing fight for justice for the victims of the Guacimal massacre, the struggles of rural workers (sharecroppers and agricultural day laborers) and how those differ from the struggles of urban factory workers (for example, agricultural workers do not always know that the labor code applies to them). Etienne also describes the Group of 184 and André Apaid's opposition to Batay Ouvriye.
