Roundtable discussion of Denis Boucolon's novel «Mon mari est capable», the story of a young man named Isaac growing up as an illegitimate son in an African family with his grandmother, the matriarch, and an indifferent mother, a singer. He moves to Paris, where he encounters much difficulty and turns to same-sex prostitution. Includes clips of Boucolon discussing with Monique Lafontant his own identity crisis, as the child of a Haitian father and a Guadeloupean mother who grew up in Africa and now lives in France.
