  • Writer, intellectual, and activist Ghislaine Rey Charlier describes the history and her experiences within the Parti Socialiste Populaire (PSP), a Marxist political party of the 1940s of which her late husband, Étienne Charlier, was one of the founding members. She discusses colorism as it related to the PSP, her relationship with her husband, and the PSP's calls for an "indigenous clergy" (clergé indigène). She also speaks about a variety of Haitian intellectuals, agrarian reform, her exile in Montreal, the women's prison in Port-au-Prince, and her novel, «Mémoire d'une affranchie».
