Aristide di lame pa t fè anyen pou ede yo, epi li lonje dwèt sou Franck Romain ak Henri Namphy pou konplo a, ak sou Gwo Schiller kòm youn nan bouwo yo.
On the first anniversary of the September 11, 1988 St. Jean Bosco massacre, Father Jean-Bertrand Aristide describes at length what happened that day. He describes the particular horror of the attack on the pregnant woman, known in the press as “Espérance,” and her baby, known in the press as “Esperancia,” who was stabbed while still in her mother’s womb (both mother and child survived). Aristide says that the army did nothing to intervene, and implicates Franck Romain and Henri Namphy as being involved in the plot and “Gwo Schiller” as participating. He praises congregation members for their courage during the massacre. He responds to criticisms that he provoked the massacre and that he is inciting class warfare, and to tensions between the Catholic Church hierarchy and proponents of liberation theology.
