Special program on the crisis of violence that led many people to call for the removal of the CNG, following the CNG's June 22 electoral decree and crackdown on labor unions. Dr. Yves Renaud describes the powerlessness of doctors to treat all the wounded. He declares that most of those wounded and killed are from low-income neighborhoods (bidonvilles) and, contrary to what the CNG claims, most of the victims were killed in their homes rather than while taking part in protests. A resident of Sans-Fil (Bel-Air) describes the violence. Elie Cantave of the Association des Vétérans Militaires denounces the tactics of the current army, and says they are poorly trained. Ady Jean-Gardy of AJH describes the role of journalists who are themselves at risk in reporting on this violence. Jean-Paul Duperval of Unité Démocratique describes the CNG as a continuation of Macoutism and repression that is pretending to be democratic. He says that the democratic movement's demands are very reasonable. Moïse Sénatus of CONACOM likewise says that the CNG is continuing the strong-arm tactics of the Duvalier regime, and explains why the CNG is violating the Constitution. René Préval of the Comité d'Action Publique Fred Coriolan describes the CNG as a Macoute government that should be removed (dechoukaj, rache manyòk).
