  • Agronomist Pierre Guy Lafontant, Director of Natural Resources at the Ministry of Agriculture, speaks with Jean Dominique about Haiti's fishing sector, including Cuban technical assistance to Haitian fishermen, particularly in the areas of Saint-Louis-du-Sud and Lully. In Lully, fishermen have formed grassroots collectives. Dominique and Lafontant also discuss fishing's potential for feeding the Haitian population and for exportation. They also talk about freshwater fishing and aquaculture.

  • L’agronome Pierre Guy Lafontant, directeur des ressources naturelles au Ministère de l’Agriculture, discute avec Jean Dominique du secteur de la pêche en Haïti, et de l’assistance technique apportée par les Cubains aux pêcheurs haïtiens, surtout dans les régions de Saint-Louis du Sud et Lully. À Lully, les pêcheurs avaient formé leur propre coopérative. Dominique et Lafontant parlent du potentiel de la pêche pour nourrir la population haïtienne, et de son potentiel pour l’exportation. Ils discutent aussi de la pêche en eau douce et de l’aquaculture.
