Richard Morse of RAM discusses with Jean Dominique his trajectory as a musician, and how he came to play racine music. He also describes the influence of his mother, musician Emerante des Pradines, how Vodou serves as a source of inspiration, and how his youth in New York and exposure to artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol inspired him. Morse and Dominique discuss Jonathan Demme's film "Philadelphia," which featured RAM's "Ibo Lele." Morse describes how his wife, Lunise, came to be part of RAM, and his identity as an "atis angaje" (activist artist).
Richard Morse, fondateur de RAM, explique à Jean Dominique son parcours de musicien et comment il est arrivé à jouer de la musique “racine”. Il parle de l’influence de sa mère, la musicienne Émerante de Pradines. Il explique aussi comment le vodou est devenu pour lui une source d’inspiration. Il raconte ce qu’il a appris durant sa jeunesse à New York, où il côtoyait des artistes comme Andy Warhol et Jean-Michel Basquiat. Morse et Dominique discutent du film de Jonathan Demme, « Philadelphia » où se retrouve une musique de RAM, « Ibo Lele ». Morse explique comment sa femme Lunise a intégré RAM, et il parle de son identité d’artiste engagé.
