Jean Dominique entèvyouve Bernard Craan, ki se responsab CLED, sou enkyetid sektè prive a genyen pa rapò ak ensekirite nan peyi d Ayiti nan peryòd anvan eleksyon 2000 yo.
Jean Dominique interviews Bernard Craan of CLED about the private sector's concerns about insecurity in Haiti in the lead-up to the 2000 elections. Craan focuses on police and the importance of justice reform, and Dominique suggests that the entrepreneurial class take a wider and more comprehensive view of justice than simply emphasizing property rights -- including justice for the Haitian poor (for example, justice for the victims of the Raboteau massacre). They discuss the balance between providing security and respecting the rights of the detained (habeas corpus), corruption within the justice system, and the private sector's perspective on the ongoing political crisis between the executive branch and parliament.
