They discuss investment, the role of regional organizations in encouraging decentralization (in which members of the diaspora contribute to the development of their communities of origin), and other subjects. They also discuss the role of the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad in creating connections between Haitians in Haiti and Haitians abroad. The Ministry is not yet official under organic law. According to Généus, Haitians who have worked abroad often have good work ethics and respect for rules, which would be advantageous in reforming public administration in Haiti.
