  • Agronomist Eunide Alphonse discusses sheath rot, the blight that is ravaging the rice crop of the Artibonite, especially after Hurricane Georges. She also discusses other rice diseases, such as mites that may come from the Dominican Republic, and efforts to work with peasant farmers to combat these diseases.

  • L’Agronome Eunide Alphonse parle de la maladie de la paille noire, une maladie qui ravage les rizières de l’Artibonite, surtout après le passage du cyclone Georges. Elle parle aussi d’autres maladies du riz, comme les acariens qui viennent de République Dominicaine, et des efforts qui sont faits pour combattre ces maladies, de concert avec les paysans.
