They discuss the 6 April elections, in which they were both elected. According to Dérilus and Macajoux, the elections were corrupt and voters in the Artibonite were drawn to independent candidates because they are not satisfied with the political parties. They discuss the divisions within Fanmi Lavalas, and the problem of the "marriage of Lavalas and Macoutes." They then turn to criticisms of how agrarian reform is being carried out in the Artibonite. The farmers of the Artibonite would like a more equitable distribution of all the resources that were supposed to be part of agrarian reform, including not only land but also seeds, tools, fertilizer, and credit. They also discuss the challenges of national production, specifically the commercialization of rice production in the Artibonite.
