  • Father Edner Devalcin of Fanmi Lavalas discusses the current political crisis, particularly the conflict between Fanmi Lavalas and OPL (as well as political parties such as PLB, KOREGA and others). According to Devalcin, Fanmi Lavalas is ready to solve the crisis, but the other political parties are unwilling to seek a resolution, and foreign powers ("zòt," the "laboratory" to which Jean-Bertrand Aristide regularly referred) continue to meddle, stoking the flames of the crisis and dividing Haitians. President Préval, according to Devalcin, is more OPL than Lavalas; Devalcin also does not want to give Préval's government credit for preparing the Raboteau trial. As far as the "gran manjè" (corrupt government authorities), Devalcin denies that Aristide or his newly-founded Fondation Aristide Pour La Démocratie are misusing funds. He also denies that Lavalas is making alliances with Macoutes (wealthy people who financed the 1991 coup d'état) in the name of "reconciliation," but also says that Haitians should work for tolerance rather than dechoukaj. Dominique presses Devalcin about these "gifts of reconciliation" that Aristide may be offering coup supporters. According to Devalcin, no matter what the CEP decrees regarding the coming elections, and even if most people don't vote, Fanmi Lavalas will win the majority of local government positions (ASECs).

  • Le père Edner Devalcin de Fanmi Lavalas parle de la crise politique actuelle, notamment du conflit entre Fanmi Lavalas et l'OPL (et les autres partis politiques, entre autres PLB et KOREGA). Selon lui, la Fanmi Lavalas est prête à enclencher le processus de réconciliation mais les autres partis politiques rechignent à trouver une solution et les puissances étrangères (« les autres », « le laboratoire » comme le dit souvent Jean-Bertrand Aristide) continuent de s'immiscer dans la situation, attisant le feu et divisant encore plus les Haïtiens. D'après Devalcin, le président Préval est plus proche de l'OPL que de Lavalas ; Devalcin refuse aussi de créditer le gouvernement de Préval pour la préparation du procès de Raboteau. Quant aux « gran manjè » (les autorités gouvernementales corrompues), Devalcin nie catégoriquement qu'Aristide ou sa nouvelle organisation, la Fondation Aristide Pour La Démocratie, détournent des fonds. Il nie aussi que Lavalas se soit allié avec les macoutes putchistes (les élites qui financèrent le coup d'État de 1991) au nom de la « réconciliation », bien qu'il précise que les Haïtiens devraient œuvrer pour la tolérance plutôt que pour les déchoucages. Dominique ne lâche pas le morceau et le cuisine au sujet des « cadeaux de réconciliation » qu'Aristide est soupçonné d'offrir aux supporters du coup d'État. Selon Devalcin, peu importe ce que le CEP décide concernant les prochaines élections ; même dans le cas où la plupart des citoyens ne voteraient pas, Fanmi Lavalas gagnerait quand même la majorité des sièges du gouvernement local en jeu (ASECs).
