Predatory money-lending means that peasant farmers are systematically stripped of capital. They also discuss Jean-Baptiste's alignment with OPL, his shifting relationship with René Préval (whom he refers to at times as "President Préval" and at other times as "Ti René"), and conflict within the Lavalas movement.
