L’agronome Stéphan Jean-Pierre, l’agronome Raoul Jean-Louis et l’agronome Frantz Bissainthe, qui font partie de l’IICA (Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture), présentent le projet de café Haitian bleu. Ce projet se déroule dans le département du Sud-est (Jacmel, Fond Jean-Noël et Cap Rouge), et dans la Grande-Anse (zone de Beaumont) en collaboration avec la Fédération des associations caféières natives (FACN). Le projet a pour but d’aider les planteurs de café à produire un café de grande qualité pour l’exportation, et d’aider les petits paysans à résister contre l’exploitation des spéculateurs.
Agronomists Stéphan Jean-Pierre, Raoul Jean-Louis and Frantz Bissainthe of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) discuss the "Haitian bleu" coffee project. The project is being carried out in the Sud-Est and Grand'Anse departments (the Jacmel area, including Fond Jean Noël and Cap-Rouge, in the Sud-Est and the area around Beaumont in the Grand'Anse) in collaboration with the Fédération des Associations Caféières Natives (FACN). The project is designed to help coffee planters produce a higher-quality crop that is suitable for export, and to help small-scale planters resist exploitative speculators.
