  • President of the senate Edgar Leblanc speaks to Radio Haiti to appraise what the senate has done in 1997. He summarizes what the senate has accomplished and what plans have yet to be achieved. He discusses which plans were successfully ratified, for example a program to protect the environment, and which plans have not yet been ratified by parliament. They discuss the 1987 constitution and the question of nationality for Haitians living abroad, temporarily or otherwise. Interview by Jean Dominique.
