  • Jean Dominique interviews Yvon Toussaint, who has recently been voted quaestor of the Senate (the financial officer of the Senate). They discuss OPL's relationship with Lavalas and Toussaint's perspective on the Mouvman Peyizan Papay (MPP), but they speak primarily about health issues, as Toussaint is also the president of the Senate's health commission. They discuss the Pharval case, product safety, and the production of medication in Haiti; the problems of the General Hospital and the need to decentralize the health care system; and the need to reform the entire health care system of Haiti, including health insurance and social security. Therefore health is a political question. Toussaint is not part of Fanmi Lavalas; he considers himself part of the true Lavalas, the Lavalas that the people voted for on 16 December 1990, the Lavalas that fought for the twa wòch dife (justice, participation, and transparency). Now, according to Toussaint, there is no transparency in Fanmi Lavalas whatsoever, and the current health care system is another form of exclusion for the majority of Haitian people.

Il se considère comme un vrai Lavalas, Lavalas que le peuple haïtien avait porté au pouvoir le 16 Décembre 1990, Lavalas qui luttait pour les « twa wòch dife » (justice, participation, transparence). Maintenant, selon Toussaint, il n’y a pas de transparence dans Fanmi Lavalas, et le système de santé actuel est une autre forme d’exclusion de la majorité de la population haïtienne.
