Newly-appointed Archbishop of Port-au-Prince, Joseph Serge Miot, discusses tensions between the traditional Catholic Church hierarchy and the liberation theology-oriented Ti Legliz movement. He explains the context of the charismatic movement within the Church, and the relationship between spirituality and earthly compassion. Miot also discusses his previous position as the rector of Université Notre Dame d'Haïti, the challenges in funding higher education for poor students in Haiti, and his work with the youth. Jean Dominique asks about the Catholic Church's politics and its communication with the people (taking as an example Radio Soleil, whose internal crisis mirrored the crisis of the Church itself over its role in politics), and the Church's obligation to the most marginalized people in society.
