Pèp ayisyen tèlman agrese -- paske lè yon moun pa gen dwa yon lavi nòmal, sa se yon zak vyolans -- epi akòz de sa, gen moun ki vin agresif yo menm, epi gen yon klima ensekirite, vyolans, zenglendo, san manman, ak enpinite k ap blayi.   • Soeur Kesta Occident discusses with Jean Dominique Haiti's current crisis of values. According to Soeur Kesta, this moral degradation stems in part from neoliberalism and globalization, which are overtaking the country and replacing traditional Haitian values that emphasized solidarity, cooperation, sharing, and extended kinship. Now, instead of "manje kwit pa gen mèt" ("cooked food has no owner") or "vwazinay se fanmi" ("neighbors are family"), it is "chak koukouy klere pou je l" ("every firefly lights his own way" or "every man for himself"). The Haitian people have been continually aggressed -- because depriving someone of their right to live a decent life is a form of violence -- which has in turn made some people aggressive, leading to the climate of insecurity, violence, zenglendo, "san manman," and impunity. Lavalas has been corrupted by power-hungry people who do not respect the "twa wòch dife" (transparency, justice, and participation); Lavalas is destroying itself. According to Soeur Kesta, the system of poverty has made people resigned to living amid garbage. They do not want to, but they have little choice. But someday, they will rise up in a konbit to clean up the literal and figurative garbage that surrounds them.

Le peuple haïtien subit tant d’agressions – car lorsqu’un homme n’a pas droit à une vie normale, c’est un acte de violence – cela produit un homme agressif, un climat d’insécurité, la violence, le banditisme, et le règne de l’impunité. Le Parti Lavalas a été corrompu par des gens avides de pouvoir, qui ne respectent pas les principes de base « twa wòch dife » (la transparence, la justice et la participation). Lavalas s’autodétruit. D’après Sœur Kesta, la misère fait que des gens se résignent à vivre parmi les déchets. Ils ne le souhaitent pas, mais ils n’ont pas le choix. Mais un jour, le peuple haïtien va se mettre debout pour nettoyer tous ces déchets qui existent dans le pays, littéralement et métaphoriquement.
